Lifetime Lab

Fourth classes visited Lifetime Lab for a day of Science activities. We are writing our stories about the day. Here is a picture we took in the playground of Lifetime Lab.

Ms. O'Mahony's 4th class

Some Silly Animal Poems - Ms. O Mahony's class!

The Grizzly Bear
One rainy day
The grizzly bear
went astray
He found a rabbit
and he tried to snatch it
But it just ran away.

He went on a hunt
to find something
to munch.
But he just fell asleep straight away.
By Anna Butler

Monkey, Monkey

Monkey, Monkey climbing the trees,
Monkey, Monkey covered in fleas,
Monkey, Monkey shouts “hip-hip hooray”,
Monkey, Monkey brightens my day,
Monkey, Monkey is happy go lucky,
Monkey, Monkey is so mucky,
Monkey, Monkey likes animal bars,
Monkey, Monkey is faster than cars,
Monkey, Monkey its time for bed,
Monkey, Monkey you heard what I said,
Monkey, Monkey have a good night,
Monkey, Monkey sleep tight.

By Laura Harrington

Squirrels o’ Squirrels.

Squirrels o’ Squirrels
They live in a dray,
They can be two colours
Red or grey.

They run and they jump
up high in the trees,
Their tails keep them balanced
and they live up to five years.

They gather their nuts
And keep in a pile
To eat when they wake
During the spring time.

By Órla Dineen

Crow

There was a crow
Who flies so slow
He always eats
Worms and fleas
Once he saw
a shiny bowl
In the grass
He found a glass
So he picked it up
And ate it all
He started choking
And he saw the king
He tried to hide
But he had died

By Benedek

My cat
He’s my cat in the hat
When he looks like that.
He puts on a smile
Takes it off in a while.
He’s very cheeky
Sometimes sneaky
Never moves from the mat
It’s no wonder he’s FAT
He only eats all day
And never comes out to play

By Katie Howell

Funky Monkey

There was a funky monkey
Who played the flute,
He was very funny
And very very cute.
He plays the guitar
And the drums too,
He did a gig for the monkey zoo.
He has sparkly clothes
That stand out far,
He always looks like a rock star.
One day he got on a band
Whose name was the animals land.
After he left a new funky monkey came to town,
And he was so good he could wear
The rock
Crown.

By Cillian Dunlea.

You silly old Billy

There was a goat called Billy,
Who was very silly and he had a wife called Lilly
His sister was called Milly.
He lives on a farm but he won’t harm,
But don’t forget he’s bold and old.
By Laura Hurley

You Silly Giraffe

There was a giraffe
His name was Alf
When I saw him in my garden
I had to laugh.

He came into my house and tried to eat my keys
He told me he liked to eat leaves
But dreaded eating bees.

I said good bye to Alf
Then he laughed as he walked
So slowly up my drive
Still trying to eat my keys
So I gave him some leaves.

Caoimhe Whelan.

The Hairy Bear
The hairy bear has flair.
He eats wire and sits by a glowing fire.
He is very fast,
And has a big gas flame coming out of
a game

Mark Todd

Mr Hedgehog

Oh Mister Hedgehog,
Where do you live?
Under a log,
Or in a bog?

Oh Mister Hedgehog,
What do eat?
Nuts and leaves, Irish stew or
Even some bamboo
Many questions I want to ask a Hedgehog,
Although I killed one walking my dog!
By David Kenny

The Cheetah With A Difference

There once was a cheetah
With a big difference
He could not climb,
But once he tried to get the lime
And failed badly

He was not so fast
And always comes last
So one day
He went to train
But was always the same
By Micheál Downey

The crazy cheetah

There once was a cheetah
He was very fast,
But he usually came last
He had lots and lots
of very small spots.

Why oh why was he so shy?
He must want to be sly,
He never said hi
Because he must be very shy.

Adam Murphy O’Dwyer

Lions

Lions are fast and strong,
Some people think they are quite long,
Sometimes they remind me of King Kong.

They are golden with a fluffy mane,
And they live in the African plain,
Where they like to lick their mane.

They are big, fast and strong,
They would never come last in races
So you would never see their faces

If they were in a great big fight,
There would surely be a bite,
And in the end it would be their delight.

By Pádraig Nash.

The Hairy Bear
That bear has so much hair,
I wish he would get his hair cut
It would be good if he did that but
It would really hurt.
He is cute and he plays the flute.

He is really fluffy
And he has a daughter named Scruffy.
One night he went to bed and he went a
Little red. He felt so hot he slept in a cot.
That was the end of the hairy bear.
By Lucy O Donnell

Harry Hare
There was a hare called Harry Hare
He liked hula hoping and hunting too,
He escaped from his habitat and into a house
He had lots of hairs that were really loose
He played the harmonica and the kazoo
He liked hairy bacon with a splash of soup
And that was the end of Harry’s trips
Now he spends his days with his
Hula Hooping friends
By Joy O Sullivan

Top cat
The cat saw the rat and ran on the mat,
Then the bat flew in the hat. The cat got the rat.
while the bat flew out of the hat.
The cat ran on the sofa to admire the fire.
By Gustas

Cheating Cheetah

There was a young cheetah
He is now a lonely cheater.
He couldn’t play games right
And he wasn’t very bright.

By Joey Wilson

Monkey Madness

There was an old monkey
Big and lumpy
But I’ve got to tell you he
Was quit funky, his coat
Black with brown spots and
His eyes were like little black
Dots, One day the old monkey said
I think I will go to bed after all I
Have already been fed.

By Róisín O Keeffe

The Fat Cat
There once was a cat
Who was very fat
When you give him a pat
He scrawls you like a rat

He is not any fun
Very unlike some
He never wants to play a game
And if you go near him, he’ll chase you away.

By Luke Wade

My cheetah poem

I love cheetahs because they are so fast
I really think they are class
Once I saw a cheetah run
He was faster than you.
He was faster than me
He went past trees
and got the flees
he saw a different
cheetah and said
lets have a race to see
has the fastest pace
