Romans in 4th Class!!!

Today Aisling's dad came in and told us about the Romans and how they fight. He also told us what weapons they had. It was very interesting. The Romans used daggers, javelins, swords and they had helmets too. A centurion had a red plume made of horse hair. A centurion was a man who owned a hundred soldiers. Aisling's dad, Joe and the other man, Noel were wearing the full Roman armour. Noel was wearing chainmail. Bernice dressed as a rich Roman noblewoman. She wore a white stola because white signifies wealth and nobility. "Salve" meant "hello" or "greetings". You raised your right hand while you said "salve". "Attente" meant "attention". The Romans told it really well. It was very good fun.
